It’s been 4 months since I started sharing everything I know around building profitable directories.
Hundreds of people have built a directory in the last few months.
But directories are simple, not easy.
Those that are learning from their mistakes, pivoting from overly competitive niches, and learning how to curate high-quality, niche-specific data on a website are starting to win.
So today’s newsletter is just a gentle nudge for the over-thinkers and anyone who has temporarily given up or stepped away from the pursuit of building their own cash-flowing digital assets.
If they can do it, why can’t you?
Here’s the traction people in the SYD Free Community are seeing:
Almost everyone mentioned above is on their first directory build (with the exception of 1-2 people who are on their second directory).
And this isn’t even close to all of them.
I’ve spoken to the lurkers in my community DMs, who don’t publicly share their stats, that are crushing it with thousands of monthly visitors coming to their site.
The beauty behind building directory websites is that you can leave and come back.
You don’t need to do everything, all at once.
I’d be lying if I said there weren’t dozens of moments where I was “stuck” in the building process and had to walk away for a week or two.
Sometimes, that’s what’s needed.
This is situation is super common: You launch a half-baked directory, walk away for a few weeks and randomly notice Google is indexing and ranking your unfinished website one day.
Then you realize, “oh shoot, there’s actually potential here. Maybe I should put more time into this.”
If this sounds like you, congratulations. This is how you learn SEO & internet distribution.
Keep Building,
Frey
